Does or did Browning make an upgraded BPS trap? I.E. Upgraded wood silver receiver? Thanks Jim W.

I have wondered about this, too. I could swear I have seen these guns on Gunbroker sporting a silver receiver much like the Browning XT. I will follow this thread with interest. Jack

7771 is right. the silver ones are shot show guns, but they don't have the single shot selector switch that the newer BPS Trap guns have.

You can't get a release trigger for any model BPS unless you are willing to pay more for the trigger than you did for the gun, and that is still questionable.

I love the BPS I have, great gun.

There was a few made as special order jobs with upgraded wood and the receiver was "painted" silver, not nitrided. They are non-catalog items. I've seen a couple of 12's and one english stocked 16ga with the silver receiver.

The "shot-show" guns have a blued receiver and no selector.
