I bought one from Bowen . It was used but had been reconditioned at the factory and had new wood . I had more trouble with it then any gun I ever had . First the ejector would bind in the out position and the gun would not close . The wood had little red dots all over the butt stock and would not rub out . The gun had way more recoil then any gun I had shot before Also try to sell one . I have had three Silver Seitz guns and all have been very good . Someone told me the fit and finish was the very best to that I say bull sh8t .

So now I,m back to a Seitz after a learning experience

I own one of his guns, the gun is a target crushing machine, little or no recoil with Hdcp federal plastics, It just doesn't shoot high enough for me............probably 80 20 or possibly 90 10......good wood and fit, shows a little blue wear around the receiver, every problem I've had, which was only one........forearm would come loose when shooting......was taken care of. because it doesn't shoot high enough for me I would sell the gun. Even though I hear (not so good) stories about his guns, it IS hearsay. No first hand information. I have, however, experienced his service through the years. I should have said, lack of service because that's what it was.

    It's "Heresy" you Hearsay!

I personally have no gun functionality experience with Alfs, Bowens, Cole's etc... But Seitz was the first one in the pool and will be the last one out.

MIA, I assume you are talking about a Tom Seitz gun?

Bruce has always treated me right and so has the gun that bears his name.

I own two Bowens ,been shooting them a short while., The Bowen that was

custom made for me is absolutely amazing fit & finish ,tremendous barrel,

destroys clays at any yardage, disintegrates birds to fine dust.

Bruce advertises 90 + % of patterns at 42 yd

it is very soft recoil and balance is like a model 12 and points as such.( my

opinion the 12 was best pointing and balanced gun made)
    s

the plan is to use it in competition this spring, , ,I can tell you its

everything any shooter would want to take to the line

I hope I can live up to its quality of perfection.

Bowen number 13 ,I thought it be be nice to own two, since Bruce is rarely

making new ones. although there is about 270 Bowens been produced

as for service, if your not happy with a man that is all hands ,on work ,he can only do so much each day, and there is a need of fast turn around time, there is other choices.

Kerry Allor is an expert in the making and function of Bowens ( another perfectionist ) so if Bruce is not your first choice you have options

I'm sure Bruce would sell parts if ever needed.

    as for the Seitz shotgun

Seitz no 73 (most beautiful engraved Seitz made) was my shot gun of

choice for many years, a truly fine shotgun, the only reason I sold it, was a

few years of not shooting much and decided it was time to pass it on

Jerry & Rich two great guys, with service to match their first class

    reputations,

I believe they have sold over 1m of fine shotguns to date,

The choice of fine shotguns is an argument that will never be settled , but these two magnificent shotguns are AMERICAN made works of perfection

    .
