Anyone know the bore ID for the new Browning 725 Sporting?

A guy I shoot with over here in South Africa just bought one and had it shipped over.

    Pretty gun.

Anyway, he has an Improved Modified choke tube, that with his old choke gauge, measures more like Improved Cylinder.

He's worried that the pattern will be too open for trap. I suggested he pattern it to see, and he agreed that was a good idea.

I told him most likely it is because the 725 is overbored, and it looks like from their literature on the internet, that is true. But it does not say what the bore diameter is.

    Thanks,

    Tim

It should around 0.740" - 0.742" which should put an IM at 0.715".

On standard bores a 0.715" would be a Light Modified/Improved Cylinder.

The 725 Citori also has the new Invector DS choke tubes, probably be a while for aftermarket tubes.

Unloader is right. My Unloader bore gauge says my BT99 bore is .736. Not .740-.742 as Browning claims. My BT100 measures the same. All my chokes measure as marked on the tube. My bore gauge is accurate.

it is very very common for browning invector plus barrels to not measure as big as the company claimed they are supposed to, especially the more recent ones.

now how the 725's shake out, I do not know,

I know my two bt-99's that I used to have measure .737

My two 525's also measure at about .738 to .737.

And yes the UNLOADER makes really dandy bore gauges.
