BLM reopens public comment on Vegas shooting park

    The Associated Press

LAS VEGAS—The federal Bureau of Land Management is reopening public comment on plans to transfer land to Clark County for a Las Vegas public shooting park.
BLM officials say they received more than 1,000 letters during a 30-day comment period last August about giving the county the land for the 4.5-square-mile facility.

The BLM says some raised new issues to consider about transferring the 2,880-acre site at the north end of Decatur Boulevard to Clark County control.

The new review runs through Jan. 29.

Weekend ceremonies marked opening of the first phase of the $60 million facility at the north end of Decatur Boulevard.

It's got pistol, rifle, shotgun and archery ranges, an education center and an office.
