I was looking at a Blaser today. I took off the forearm and it looked like the barrel latch was only held in by the forearm wood. Is there anything connecting the forearm shoe to the latch other than the wood?

the latch is connected to the barrel and the back of the iron overlaps the sides of the front of the receiver

On most other guns the forearm iron is all one piece that slides into the barrel lug and the shoe is attached to that iron. It looked like the Blaser is two pieces, one for the barrel latch and one for the shoe. Both are imbedded in the wood and the wood alone holds them together. Is this true or is there something holding them together that you cannot see?
