The above link I have provided will give you a daily and complete listing of bills and resolutions introduced to the House and Senate.

I see there are bills to repeal both the 16th and 22 amendments.

The 22nd is the term limits for the President (when we have one).

The 16th deals with Congress collecting income taxes.

A lot of this stuff is introduced every year and goes nowhere, but who knows what may happen now days.

One way to tell your Senators and Congress people you are watching, is to email your comments on any bills you feel pro or con to as soon as you are aware of them.

Your Welcome Charlie. I also found a similar site for my State and I will try to look at both, often.

As to the repeal of Amendment 22, I think if someone were to look at past bills introduced over the last 10 years, this has come up often.

You can find the entire list of bill introductions for a year on a similar site.

I would not get too excited about stuff like that.

A lot of bills and resolutions are submitted as a way of making a statement or protest by lawyers far to busy to do something for the good of the country.

Rick- You are correct on that. Alot of Congressional people introduce bills to show they are doing something. Earning their pay.

A Colorado State House member Rhonda Fields has announced her plans to introduce in the State Legislature a bill that would require private back ground checks and a ban on mangazines holding 50 & 100 rounds. (?????About those that hold 75?)

    -----------------------------------------------

Also the CBI here in Colorado somehow missed the time frame in it's request for more money in attempts to keep up with the backlog in background checks. There has also been some politicos saying the buyer should pay for the background checks. People have argued that if the State requires the background check, the State should pay for it.

    -----------------------------------------

You probably have already heard House Rep Cathy Giffords today is launching a counter to the NRA. A group that is going to lobby for responsible gun control.
(like that has never already happened) People think her efforts will cause a larger amount of people to join such an lobby, due to her own injuries substained in a mass shooting.

    --------------------------------------------

H.R. 65 (US) Ghild Gun Safety and Gun Access Prevention Act of 2013 Increasing youth gun safety by raising the age of handgun eligibility and prohibiting youth from possessing semiautomatic assault weapons. Rep Sheila Jackson Lee TX

    -----------------------------------------

H.R. 34 (US) To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for the record of a sale system of theose firearms and for other purposes. (not received by House yet) Rep Bobby Rush IL

    ------------------------------------------

H.R. 35 To restore safety to America's schools. (not received by House yet)Rep Steve Stockman TX

    --------------------------------------------

H.R. 21 NRA Members' Gun Safety Act of 2013 Requiring background check for every person (this is for private sales more than anything else and will include States not requiring BGC at gun shows) Rep James Morgan VA.

HR21 has a nifty title huh?

How about Amendment 100? That would be the repealing of the Declaration of Independance. We'd have a King and Queen again, Canada and us would be under the crown and we could all eat buttered scones and drink tea. I can't see where we'd be any worse off considering the direction this country is taking. (I'm JOKING!) ... (FOR THE MOST PART!)

What the hell happened in the past 40 years?

I think that turns up just about every year, just like other bills turn up to repeal amendements.

It's kinda stupid when you think about, then by what right would they have to function?

That is former House Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Her and her husband Mark Kelly have started a group called Americans for Responsible Solutions. They have no money, and from their website, there is a link to their Facebook site. It looks like 7,000 people are interested.

The comments on their Facebook page is getting hammered with pro gun people. This groups lobbing power is nil. It will be busted soon.

I agree Bisi, I think that amendment has done more to destroy our form of government as it was intended and perhaps led to our downfall.

If the Senators answer to large metro cities only, they are not held responsible for the rest of the State.

Imagine how reluctant they would be to vote in these expensive programs that are started by the Fed, then passed on to the States for operation. if they then had to answer to their State legislature.

It has become a 2 to 1 with Senators and Presidents no longer having to be held responsible for their actions.

The 17th Amendment really makes the Senate useless when you think about it.

rick, do you really believe that there are a relevant number of people in the u.s. government who are driven by communist principles?

if so, who are they? what bills have they proposed that have become law?

nah--can't be--must be an attempt at a joke...

Wayno if you don't think there are some communistic idealogues in the executive branch or in congress then you don't know what communism is.The president of the United States has deep socialistic and communistic beliefs.Do you think Obamacare is capitalism?Do you think the so called stimulus spending is capitalism?Do you think taking wealth from one man and giving it to another is capitalism? How about disarming the citizens? How aout the fed govt owning GM?

They don't introduce bills that are blatant because they can't get them passed. It is incrementalism that serves them well.A little freedom at a time.It started in 1932 and continues to this day. However, they are becoming bolder because they actually have a constituency now.

This is alot different country now than it was 100 years ago and not all for the better. There is a huge federal workforce.I don't know the exact number but would not be surprised if 25% of people work for the local state or fed govt.Does that sound like capitalism.

There are alot of communist in power they just don't call themselves communists yet.

H.R. 117 calls for registration and licensing at a Federal level for handguns, plus 15 year sentence for offense.
