Bone out the breast when you clean them. Soak the breasts in Kraft 3 cheese salad dressing or ranch works too. Wrap a piece of bacon around the breast, and sprinkle a little Lowry's seasoning on it, and throw on the grill till the bacon is done. Don't over cook. You can also tuck a pepper in the breast before you wrap it in bacon if you're a pepper fan.

Is that the only way to make dove good? Could I use it in a soup or something like stew?

You can grill them on the barbeque and turn them while cooking.

You forgot the part about "then eat the bacon and give the dove to the dog."

While they are fun and challenging to shoot, They really are not a meal, More along the lines of a snack food,

We wrap the breast around a jalapeno then wrap it in bacon, then grill,

Dip in ranch if you like, Great appetizer while the steaks are finishing.

You guys can look down your nose at dove all you want. I'll take them. If you bone out the breasts and stir fry them they are fantastic. My wife and kids love them. Similar texture to dark meat chicken.

Soak the breast in Italian Salad dressing overnight a grill them quickly!! I also save the gizzards and hearts and do the same thing except I place them on bamboo sticks to grill! Setterman's recipe is great to but it's more work. Guess I'm lazy

Bone and butterfly the breasts, Soak overnight in buttermilk, adds flavor and seems to lesson the livery taste.

Bread them as you wish. We use flour salt pepper and sazon, fry them like chicken and serve with a milk gravy and your sides.

Around here we figure 10 birds per person.

My wife's seasons with sazon, Adobo then grill, chop and make tacos. She claims any other way is too much work for to little meat.

Like Dr. Joe, I always saved mine until I had enough to make a stir fry out of them. Be creative with the veggies and stir fry sauce.

We save some for Christmas and grill them that evening as a pre dinner snack. We'll also do a bunch of pheasant breast strips the same way. Some of the best damn fowl there is!

If you remove the skin and fat from the breast and then soak the breasts in water with some salt in it for 24 hours or so the strong liver taste will be gone. I've had good success making a casserole with de-boned breasts, rice, cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup. Grilled and served with brown and wild rice is also good. Grilled with bacon is the best! JPM

Last year I cut the meat off of the breast and then cut it into small slices and chunks about 3/16" to 1/4" thick. My wife cooked it in chili beans, stew and in some soup and it was really good.

One of the reasons for a skunky taste is , each pellet hole has some feather in it !! Get that out and the posibility of edible meat is better. Takes a while........your results may vary.....merlyn
