"Sells your guns and get out of the sport"!

Seriously, Best tip, purchase D.Lee Braun's book on trapshooting. It showed pictures of targets actually being broken so I could actually see the amount of lead I needed to break a target. My scores increased 8 to 10 birds per 100.

Shoot where it's going not where it's been.

When I first started shooting trap, a respected "old timer", told me to get rid of my over/under bag with box holder...

"Stop looking at shells... dump in your box of shells and throw in an extra handful of the same... focus only on the bird at hand... when you miss your first "move", you'll know you're focusing only on the birds..."

So... I cut off the upper box holder from my brand NEW Boyt over/under bag and had a friend sew the bag in such a way as to make the lower hull compartment a hip pouch. Been doing that for twenty years and I still work to miss my share of "moves"...

    I have two...

    1. One target at a time.

    2. Keep the wood on the wood.

Why would you want any of your shot to go under the target when the target is always rising. Raise that poi. Thank you Harlan.

My mentor told me many years ago "see the bird-break the bird". One time we had an annie shoot and he was paired up with a young lad who asked him how do we do this, he answered "I'll break mine and you break yours".

One target at a time, each individual target is a race.

"It takes a dummy to shoot trap." Your mind should be empty and all of your attention should be on the target.

"See the target - shoot the target."

    Two.

Arnold Reigger. "Look at it and shoot it!"

Al Ljutic. "Never start out to break a 100 straight, try for a 98. When you've broken those, well then, break the other two!"
