I have a PFS, a RAD, and a Gracoil. If I were to pick one...it would be the PFS (because you get the benefit of better gun fit. If I were choosing between the other two I would use the Gracoil. If you need to take your stock off the action for any reason, with a RAD you will lose your settings (pad position). I found (with Nora Ross' help) that if you set the action too loose on any of the systems you will collapse the gun when moving to hard rights or lefts. My father has a Compcoil on his gun which he really likes. I think the one that appeals most to me at this point in the Supreme Magnet Lock from Soft Touch. I have not fired that one (I have fired a standard) but I like the idea of locking feature.

Make sure your gun fits first. Don't try and fix a gunfit problem with a recoil system.

To John's point....I too have a stock made by Dennis and I can tell you that nothing compares to that stock. That is why I mentioned making sure it fits, because anything I tried to achieve with the other systems, I got with a solid piece of wood from Dennis. My gun now shoots softer with a solid stock then it ever did with the RAD. The only one I still use is the PFS on my OU because of the adjustments (and I put maybe 1000 shells through that a year). If I had my choice it would be two stocks from Dennis. Once you get a custom stock...there is no going back.

The best "anti-recoil" system would be the precision fit stock. I guess the best recoil system would be a poorly fitting stock and heavy loads.

The cheek piece is mounted to the recoil system so it won't rub on your face.

Soft touch by Moe Bragg works for me. I have a Gracoil on my MX-3 and it isn't nearly as good as the Soft Touch on the MX-10. BRGII

A stock that fits! If you have to add a recoil system to a gun and you can't afford the PFS get the Gracoil. It's a good unit easy to use economical and rarely breaks.
