Subject: BEST QUOTE OF 2009 - BRAVO FOR SHERIFF JUDD.

Gotta admire the man for being honest. . .

POLK COUNTY FLORIDA SHERIFF GRADY JUDD

An illegal immigrant in Polk County Florida who got pulled

over in a routine traffic stop ended up 'executing' the

    deputy who stopped him.

The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his

    right ear at close range.

Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed.

A state wide manhunt ensued. The murderer was found hiding

in a wooded area with his gun.

After he shot at them, SWAT team officers open fired and hit

    the guy 68 times.

    Now here's the kicker:

Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they

shot the poor undocumented immigrant 68 times.

Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel: (Talk about an

    all-time classic answer).
'Because that's all the ammunition we had.'

This one's a little older than 2009 but worth considering:

"The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good." George Washington.

So very true today. Also remindful of those true words from a shooter's best friend, Jeff Cooper; "An armed society is a polite society."

It checks out. Great story, however very sad. Seems to be 2006.

BDodd, I think you'll find that quote wasn't from the late, lamented Col. Cooper, may he rest in peace, but the even later and probably more lamented science-fiction author Robert A. Heinlein, may he also rest in peace.

Hmmm, Tony, perhaps he (Cooper) just liked re-stating it. I saw it attributed to him so many times in mags and it sounded just like him, I just accepted it as true. Makes little difference, I like the point made.....Bob Dodd

PS - Couldn't resist; googled the quote and Tony is spot on, dead right, keeerect! Thanks for the info buddy. OVBill, sorry for highjacking your thread - that wasn't my intent....BD
