in the shotgun sports magazine(their selling section) there is a spiral mesh like brush- put it in a drill- really works. it will literally get the tube warm!

Brownells has chamber brushes for all gauges. They are heavy duty bronze and have a fixed handle. They are meant to clean the chamber but I find that they work very well on chokes. You need to hold the choke in a padded vice or use one of those split plastic holders that grip the choke threads.

If you have lots of plastic build-up just stop using ClayBuster wads!!

I have found the best way to clean choke tubes is to get a large baby food jar fill it with Hopps #9 and soak the tube overnight the carbon and plastic will flake out with a 10 guage bore brush on an electric drill.

I use a Rodge F while at the shoots. At home, just soak the choke tubes overnight in mineral spirits. No sense spending extral bucks for Hoppe's when mineral spirits is so inexpensive and works just as well.

Why do you need anything different than what you use for the barrel? Just take the tube out after you clean the barrel to clean and re-grease the threaded areas.
