which one do you think is the better choice. The beretta is a top single and I like the idea of an unsingle a little better. Is quality comparable or not? any advice is appreciated.

687, which is also available as an unsingle.

All things considered, the Beretta is probably the better gun. This is not to say that the SKB is not also an excellent gun, and certainly worthy of consideration.

I would see if you could be permitted to "try" both guns and see which one you prefer.

I have been shooting Berettas from 1985 when I bought my 682x combo. Now shooting 687 combo from JEG's Guns. Have had no problems with either gun. I am shooting the unsingle barrel from my 682x on the 687 frame. For the money Beretta is the way to go.

Try to find an Beretta S682X combo like this:

34" unsingle 32" O/U...ported, tubed and HPI recoil system. It will become your bread and butter gun and you can have it rebuilt at the Grand for under $100 every few years. This is a true competition gun that's hard to beat.

I have owned them both and go with the Beretta. It is hands down the better gun and the better choice. One would be Skb is no longer being made. It's called out of business. Beretta will have a much better resale value also.
    Good luck with your choice.

The Beretta ASE 90 and the DT10 use the same lock-up system as the SKB and not the lock-up used on the 68 series guns. Just saying.
