What exactly is X-TRA GRAIN wood on Berettas 391's. Is this just paper like on cheap wall panels over a low grade walnut stock? If it is I assume you would not be able to cut the comb and refinish it to match the rest of the stock. thanks in advance for replies,Dave

Beretta X-TRA wood is a water proofing film like the camouflage films on duck guns.

You can not sand it and refinish it yourself.

What Steve is refering to is "XTra Wood", which is totally different from "XTra Grain". XTra wood is simply a film of highly grained wood set over a cheap piece of Walnut. XTra Grain is a laser process that instilles the grain entirely through the wood. It can be cut and sanded and the grain is still visible.

I liken both to a woman with a boob-job. Obviously fake, but still nice to look at none the less.

Here is an adjustable comb that I did on an XTra grain gun:

Tron, you're right, and I agree with your statement.

I think I understand what you're comparing, can you also show some pictures in that regards? :)

OMG I saw the Hitlary beast, no wood for me for at least 24 hours if I can get that image out of my head.

With the boob job added I still wouldn't hit that even with Tron's lightweight tackle.
