The connecting rod on my 391 broke the other day, years ago I bought the special one a couple of years ago from Shotgun Sports, it didn't last that long either. Is there anyone that makes a real good one . If not how often should these rods be replaced?
Thanx Curt, I get all my parts from Cole for my Beretta guns. Timney used to make a real good rod. In my opinion the one that is currently available isn't that much better than the Beretta one & after hearing what happened to Cuban Cigar's gun I'll stick with factory parts. This might be moot,I'm getting my strength back & will b e shooting my Infinity again.
Phil keep in mind that rod is built to break if excess force is applied in order to save the receiver. Use only the factory ones and make sure to change the recoil spring every 10,000 rounds in order to not have the bolt slamming the rear of the receiver. I have broken three or four over the last 20 years and everytime the spring needed replaced. Keeping the recoil spring fresh also saves you the misfortune of breaking the rear lug off a very expensive bolt.
