What is the difference in 682, 686, and 687's?

I am thinking that I would like to buy a good combo gun to get started with in thios sport, but am unsure what to buy or stay away from in the beretta combo's

    Thanks for your help,

Pretty much all the parts are interchangeable, with a few exceptions. For example the 687EELL and 687EL have "side plates" on the receiver, so the wood won't interchange.

Basically, the main differences are, the 682 is the competition model, the 686 is the no frills base model and the 687 is the high grade. Bill Malcolm
