Now, how to pressure the other manufacurers not to sell.

    http://impliedinference.wordpress.com/2013/02/26/berettas-dont-bluff-legislators-dont-learn/

On the heels of the announcements that Spike Tactical is moving from California to Texas, and Magpul is threatening to leave Colorado if a bill banning high-capacity magazines is passed, comes the story of Beretta’s standoff with Maryland.

Jeff Reh, a member of Beretta USA’s Board of Directors, told the Maryland lawmakers, “Enact such measures at your own risk”. He expressed concerns about the impact of SB 281, and stated that “In Italy, Beretta has existed continuously in the same small town for almost 500 years. The Beretta family started its investment in Accokeek in the late 1970s and the history of the family is to show commitment to the community in which it locates its businesses.”

    According to Reh,

“I think they thought we were bluffing… but Berettas don’t bluff.”

Who"s next Smith & Wesson, Colt,or? I think its great that these companies are standing up for the shooters. It would be great if all firearms and ammo mfgs would do the same.

I wonder how Beretta would get out of their U.S. Military contract? Part of the last contract (2012) of 100,000 pistols, states that they are to be made in the Accokeek Maryland facility.

If I didn't know better I'd think they were using UNION type tactics to get their way.

They're welcome to come to Indiana. We'd roll-out the red carpet for all of them.

When I worked for Beretta USA I asked management often why Beretta stayed in Maryland. I would think a state like TX is where they should head. Beretta USA took over the Garcia building after Garcia gave up the importing of Beretta, Galiff was in that time period somewhere, I can't remember for sure when. They made little pistols in the plant because they couldn't import them from Italy after the gun control act of 1968. 22's and 25's.

I loved living on the Eastern Shore but when my kids got to be school age I had to get out of the liberal mindset of Maryland. I couldn't have my kids taught that crap so I headed back to conservative Northwest Ohio. Sadly the teacher unions are doing all they can to ruin our schools here too, glad my kids are out.

The libs/dems/socialists could care less about Beretta, lost jobs, or gun crime victims.

They're only interested in gun control or more accurately just control and advancing their agenda.

Anybody heard anything concerning the Ban Bill that was sent to Mds House yesterday..there was a huge turnout in Annapolis protesting loudly against it! Of course the local news reported it as a small group of rednecks with bullhorns and a couple hotdog vendor carts to keep us from killing and eating the nieghborhood pidgeons and squirrels

There is another take on this subject.

There is a growing list of gun related companies that will no longer sell to Law Enforcement in the "idiot states."

The kicker is to get all of the "gun manufacturers" to stop selling to LE as well.

IF S&W, Colt, Beretta,Glock,Para,Taurus, etc. would come out and say they will no longer sell to LE anywhere. Then all of these BS laws would go away.

On that list last I saw there was 44 names and Barret and Midway USA were the biggest names on there. The rest were small guys with little impact.

IF they could get the big guys to boycott, then the heat would really get turned up.
