Can someone please enlighten me as to the difference between a Beretta 682X and a Beretta 682X Gold?

    Thanks.

The 682x is merely the older model, the Gold E the newer. No difference in the guts that I am aware of.

Thanks - at my club there are two guns for sale, one is a 682x & one is a 682x Gold.

Everything seems the same (rib height, lock-up, bluing, etc.) - the only difference I can tell is the name Beretta is in gold writing on the 682x Gold.

The Gold model is a few bucks more and I was trying to figure out what I am getting for that extra money.

both are great guns. I wouldn't mind picking up another one as a back-up.

I have a Gold and a 30 year old 682X and the difference is in the rib height. The older model has a lower rib..

The Gold has the Greystone finish whereas the X has a "black" finish. The Gold also has a narrower reciever than the X. The barrels will interchange from model to model, but the barrel shoulders may not be flush with the sides of the receiver, depending on the mixed configuration you have.

What Brad said.........Physically the same up till the Gold "E" which has very minor differences.
