Has anybody ever used Briley to have a set of Beretta barrels fitted to a 682 receiver?

I know that Cole's is the best place to ship a Beretta for work, but I'm just down the road from Briley and thought it would be nice to not have to ship a gun across the country.

    Thanks

Briley's work is second to none. I would take it there. Bill

I looked at both web sites for prices, and I'm kinda surprised.

Briley lists $350 plus to fit barrels and Coles's shows $125.

Does anybody know if Cole's price is for barrels purchased from them?

Does Briley charge less if it doesn't take as much to fit them?

Anybody have any experience with either of them for barrel fitting?

Most people can fit a berreta barrel themselves-

Does it go on the receiver? is it only the forearm lug ?

    regards from Iowa

PS- briley of course can do anything and will but wont that add about 50 percent to what you paid?

many beretta barrels just fit- not like Krieghoffs but probably 30 percent at least

I've changed a lot of Beretta barrels, usually the ejector needs to be timed or a little filing on the barrel lug....very simple.

I had a local "gunsmith" fit a 682X barrel to my receiver. He screwed it up.

Took it to Stu Wright at the Grand, and he had it done in about an hour, and, I recall that he charged less than $100. Did a great job.

My limited experience with the 682X that I own is that I have put 3 different barrels on it than it came with and all locked up tight and ejected correctly.

    Anthony 12 ga,

My first choice would be Rich Cole because I live in New England. But,I would not have any reason not to send it to Stu Wright.Either one would be a very good choice!!!!!

I would take it to Briley and see what they can do for you. I am sure that if the fitting process is not too involved, they will cut you a break on the price.

If you ship the gun across the country and back, you will eat-up any savings that you may gain in the cost of the service.

Briley had to give up their FFL so they will not be working on any items that require a receiver or any other regulated items. Click on the above link to view their operating schedule.

I recently sold a 682 34" top single Beretta barrel to one of my shooting buds.A local gunsmith fitted it for $60.00 Its not rocket science. I honestly believe anything under $100.00 for 1 hours work is fair. You don't need a brain surgeon for a hang nail.
