I just bought a Beretta Al390 gold Sport. But I havent been able to find any information on it. It has a 30 inch barrel, marked Trap, the is nickel or stainless steel I am not really sure. The barrel is ported. The receiver is silver sided with two ducks on one side and a snipe on the other side. It has a highly figured stock, with metal grip cap with banner for engraving. I was just wondering when these were made, whether the barrel is nickel or stainless and if the porting is factory. And maybe a rough idea of value? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

If you are saying the barrel is silver(nickel or stainless) that is something that has been done aftermarket and is not from the factory. If it has a metal grip cap on the stock that is from a field gun. Is the receiver the hump back style(browning A5) or rounded in the rear? It sounds to me like a gun someone has put together from different parts. And that does not mean it hurts the value much just that it may not be a factory version gun.

It has the rounded receiver, and the grip cap is real fancy, I dont see it being on a field gun.

A picture would answer all questions....some target barrels were factory ported....some were not...some field stocks had metal grip caps...none of the target model stocks had grip caps....but with out a picture ?

No grip caps or porting on factory 390 target models that I've ever seen...

The man is talking about a 390 not a 391. Jeff

I have a Beretta AL 390 Sport with a factory ported barrel marked "Super Trap". The original barrel was not ported & just marked "Trap". There is some printing on the barrel about Chrome Moly quenched High Tensile Steel which I guess is referring to the chrome lining, which both barrels had. When these guns were in production, companies like Angle Port were selling slicked up versions with numerous upgrades so no telling what your gun may be. John

The grip cap may very well be an add on by the previous owner. The porting could very well be factory.

Call Beretta service with the serial number, and they will give you a wealth of information. They have books and stuff, it's amazing.

Ballistics Spec. Angle Porting, grip cap added on by previous owner, trap guns had step ribs, sporting guns had flat ribs. Nicer wood than most.
