I have a 682 Gold E Sporting Clays which is great for sporting clays but I wouldn't want to lug it around all day as a hunting gun because of the weight, although mine has 32" bbls. A new 682 Gold is around $3000 so a used one would be obviously less than that depending on condition. If you are only an occasional sporting clays shooter, you might be fine with one of your field guns. If you intend to become an active shooter, I'd think you would eventually want a gun just for sporting clays, probably one with a longer barrel than 28". The gun light enough to carry all day may have too much recoil to deal with during a 100 target sporting clays event. John
