I have a beretta 391 with a 30" blued gloss finish barrel. My grandson wants to duck hunt with the gun in salt water marshes. Will the bluing hold up or should I have it re finished?? If so who finishes barrels?? I don't want it to rust and pit, and even though I clean my guns after each use.... it happens to some guns.
    Thank you for any help.

Before using it cover the gun with RIG grease, after exposure flush off all the salt water with WD-40, then lube & clean everything with CLP-a 391 is a good gun, but its not worth itput expensive finish into a field gun, you could probably buy another good used barrel for the cost of a first classs blue job.

I'd buy him a Benelli Nova or similar priced (used) pump gun and keep my 391 out of the salt.
