1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Was that stock made for that receiver? Beautiful wood, just doesn't look like a good fit.

Stock was made for a 391. The photos, don't do it justice.

The reason you see a gap is because of the shim. It appears that a 65 shim is on the gun which has a larger gap at the top. The receiver does not mate directly with the stock on a 391.

I see what you mean but I was talking about the wood being so "proud" around the receiver.

On DeVault Conversions the Beretta shims are not used--this stock doesn't look like a DeVault stock for the following reasons:
    1) the grip is the wrong angle

2)there is no dovetailing on the ebony grip cap.

The is absolutley a Devault conversion
    1) the grip angle isn't always the same or it wouldn't be a custom stock.
    2) there is no ebony grip cap. Dennis builds a fair number of stocks with out the ebony grip cap.

    Best Regards,

Tom Smith has made 8 custom stocks for me and on all of them, autos included, the wood is perfectly fitted to the metal so I thought that would be commonplace on a custom stock. My mistake.
