I have a question on Beretta 390 barrels. I have 2 identical looking 390 barrels. They are both 30" step rib. One is marked "TRAP" one is marked "SPORT". Are the barrels the same besides the marking?

    Both receivers are marked "SPORT".

    Any input is appreciated.

If the barrels are original to the receivers, I believe that the "Sport" is an earlier serial number than the "Trap". I'm pretty sure all of the earlier step rib barrels were marked "Sporting" and when they started making flat rib barrels then they started marking the step rib barrels "Trap"

Thanks guys, that makes sense. At then end of the day I don't care how they are marked, I was just curious if all step rib barrels were the same.

They are the same. Just a way to date them for the most part.
