Beretta 390-bolt does not complete its travel

I have a Beretta 390, the bolt does not travel completely to the rear. I use a shell catcher and after the shot, I need to pull the bolt back another inch or so to eject the shell. The gun has been shot alot and sometimes with heavy loads. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to correct? My gunsmith who used to maintain the gun has gone out of business. Thanks for any info.

At the rear of the receiver is a cup-shaped spring-loaded object which runs the whole system. With time, it can wear so there's a groove in it, and that ups the friction by a lot. Check it. If you need to replace it, wear safety glasses!!

My 390 was doing the same thing & it turned out that the locking block in the bolt was broken. John
