I saw someone this weekend who had a tooled belt for his shell box and mesh catcher. It looked very nice and there wasn't a buckle. It seemed to be connected with a strip of Velcro. No worries or concerns about exact fit - or any chance for scratching. Of course, the guy was shooting, then my squad was called for practice, and I lost him in the crowd.

I started searching Google for "Velcro belts". "belts without buckles", and "leather belts with Velcro". Except for http://www.bullhidebelts.com/Velcro-Belts_ep_89-1.html I haven't found anything like that one.

I also looked at Shamrock Leather. Nope. Any tips or hints on locating this kind of belt?

We wore those for duty belts. Safariland, Bianchi, makes them. There is a inner belt to go thru your pants loops and the outer belt goes over it.

That's it, Lonesome Charlies has exactly what I saw - in a few different designs as well.

    Thanks,

I bought a leather covered buckle for $10 for my normal belt.

Another option is the Mechanics belt (no scratch belt) The buckle is part of the belt tip and fully covered. At the website listed above. These run $19 - $26 depending on width and waist size.

Chip.....I would assume those prices are for "regular" sizes. Do they list trapshooter sizes, or are they priced by the yard accordingly.

Actually per Andy about 30 minutes ago the prices are for up to a Pants size 56 even though the website says 52. He can make larger but the type of leather and dye process will change. He currently makes them from Vat Dyed Bull hide so the color is through and through. He is making me a 59" one (he believes he has a long enough piece of the Vat Dyed Bull hide) and the cost is still the $23.95 from the website plus $6 shipping. Give him a call or e-mail he is a great fellow to talk to.

Just received my belt from Andy total cost 29.95 delivered. Very well made top quality leather. Well worth the money available in Black, Dark Brown either plain or basket-weave. Mine is 59 inches. He made it longer than what is listed on the website at NO extra charge. I will be buying another very soon. Give him a call.

I bought a half vest from Cabela's and made a velcro belt. The pockets from the half vest I also put velco on and they can now come off when I want them to. Just get a sewing machine and go to it.
