Back around 1997, there was a thread regarding "your favorite beer". Many of you recommended a beer that was made in America but sold only in certain states (was not a major brand name). It was not sold in Kansas where I resided at the time. I now live in TX so hopefully I can find that brand here...if only I could remember the brand name.

Help...what's your favorite beer? I'll remember the name once I see it in print.

    Thanks,

    miltie (beer lover)

Possibly Yuengling. Made in Eastern Pennsylvania, and distributed regionally on the East coast. Good stuff.

Glad to help. If you make it to Southwestern Pa, the first round will be on me.

It is available in Florida also, not sure how far west from there.

Yuengling is brewed in the old Stroh's Tampa brewery. There is also good shooting around Tampa this winter.

Yuengling is the oldest brewery in America. We pass it on the way to the Pennsylvania State Shoot at Elysburg. It is also right down the road from Cabelas in Hamburg, PA. It is a fine beer and I drink it when I can't get a Sam Adams.

ps I also named one of the finest bird dogs I ever owned or saw "Sam Adams"!

Spotted COW By Glarus Brewing made in WI. Anything New Holand Brewing makes is great. Dragon Milk, Cabin Fever, Poet, Capsun, Sundog all are excellent beers. IMHO

I love beer period and drank a lot of Yuengling for years when I lived Midwest. Most of my life I have been a Bud fan but in the last couple years I have enjoyed some Micro's because my wife works for a Miller Coors, Corona, Ninkasi Dist. The Ninkasi is made in Eugene Or and is my all time favorite. Try it Miltie, you can get it in Texas. Only comes in kegs or 22 oz bottles.

Texas has the stupidest beer/wine/liquor laws in the country, wet dry wet dry wet dry

    But they are getting better

Shiner is a pretty decent brewski, but I brew my own, some good stuff

If you like a very stout beer, try Bourbon barrel stout from Bluegrass brewing co.

It's aged in bourbon barrels and very dark and intense.

For more practical beer I like Boston lager.

As long as you can't see through it while pouring, it's good to go.
