If there is such a thing as a good Democrat, Bayh was one. He was at least a moderate and not happy with all the crap he was getting from the libs in Obama's pocket.

This is a bombshell. Bayh was probably one of the most conservative Democrats in the Senate, but still that is pretty damn liberal.

Evan Bayh was really 2 people. There was DC Evan, and then there was the one who came back to Indiana once every couple of years. He talked like a conservative when in Indiana, but when he went back to DC he voted with the herd. He talked about fiscal responibility in IN, but then did nothing to scale back Ojackass' agenda when in DC.

I really thought he was a lifer in the Senate though. Fairly young, good looking, well spoken, sensible, didn't think he had a chance of losing. I thought he would be there for ever, or until he left to run for Prez.

    Evan Bayh

Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers.

Voted NO on banning lawsuits against gun manufacturers for gun violence.

Voted NO on more penalties for gun & drug violations.

Based on lifetime voting records on gun issues and the results of a questionnaire sent to all Congressional candidates in 2004, the National Rifle Association assigned Senator Bayh a grade of D- (with grades ranging from a high of A+ to a low of F).

In 2007 Gun Owners of America gave Senator Bayh a rating of F.

    Goals for 2010:

Develop and require “smart gun” technology to prevent use of firearms by unauthorized persons and implement sensible gun control measures.

Yes, I know kehrby. Bayh wasn't the man he claimed to be. He wasn't as bad as some but he was still too liberal for me. I kept writing him and he kept sending back form letters. It got to be funny. I got the same letter 3 times in one day from him.

Heard on the news today that they are trying to get John Cougar Melloncamp to run for Bayh's seat.
He thinks the pres, Pelosi and all are not liberal enough.
