Question, What does a barrel bore gauge tell you and how can it benefit trapshooters?

    Thank You

It will tell you what the barrel inside diameter is and also the choke ( diff of barrel to choke). A trapshooter soes not need it, but nice to have. You will only use it once per gun

    Cuban,

You gotta be kidding, use it only once per gun. As Bulley would say - !!!!!!!!!! Here's how it really works. Use it once - confirm what the manufacturer claimed were the inside diameter of the barrel and the choke constriction. Six months later you miss a few singles targets that you should've hit and you know the reason has to be that damn choke. It couldn't be you, but you forgot what you measured six months ago. Use it twice. Confirm that the choke hasn't changed, but it still ain't you. Take some lessons, get some coaching, fix the problem. Six months later start missing high lefts at 'caps. Start wondering - how open was that damn choke anyway? Forgot again. This time get smart and write all the measurements down. Use it a third time. Send that barrel to Barrelchokeworkdude to have the problem resolved. Barrel comes back and you have to verify Barrelchokeworkdude's claims on what he/she did. Do the measurements and compare to the written "before" list - OOPS, lost the list! Use it a fourth time. Sitting in the "gun room" on a cold January night fondling all the toys. Use it a fifth time. Gonna get smart and put all measurements into the computer so you won't lose them this time. Mid July - time to sell ole Betsy and you're gonna give the buyer the measurements you put into the computer in January but can't remember the name of the folder you put 'em in. Use it a sixth time.

Wear the dang thing out and call Bulley for a new one. Gotta test this one to make sure it measures like the old one. Use it once.....................

    Right!!

    Respectfully Submitted, Mike Mann

Never mind checking all of your various choke tubes. Most used item in the room. I think I may be worse than Mike. :) Bob

With a bore guage, adjustable choke reamer, forcing cone reamer and barrel hone you can make magic barrels. HMB
