Blue sky wih no clouds and no dragonflies, trap houses far enough away from each other to not see flying pieces coming from the next one. I get that in my dreams at night.

But a clean snow background is not bad with green targets!

I actually like to shoot at night under the lights, over a snow covered field. Bright orange targets just disappear in a cloud of soot as they try to vanish into the darkness. (Since I now live in FL, green pine trees with the sun to my back)

I always enjoyed the background at Sparta, Illinois.

Crystal clear blue sky with no clouds is great with NY targets.

I also really like a dark purple rain-threatning sky especially with low sunhine filtering in over my shoulder.

I like sun hitting me in the corners of my eyes, blue sky quickly transitioning in to trees, echoes of shot ringing off of my ears from shooting between skeet houses----its conditioning, when you get to clear skyes, dome targets with lots of target face---makes them look like garbage can lids==great scores when it counts !!!

    Black sky - night shooting.

I got to do some night shooting for the first time down in Corpus Christi last December at their Tropical Trap Shoot. I loved it... and not just because I won it, but because the targets against the black sky highlighted by the lights were so easy to see. Without any background distraction, it was an absolute joy to shoot.

I wish they did night shooting in the Austin area. I'd definitely participate.

Blue sky with the sun behind me, only thing better is totally black night sky with white targets and a well lit field.
