I spoke with my son last night about weapons cleaning. He is a member of the 2nd Marines at Camp Lejuene, NC. They use baby wipes to clean the bolt & receiver of their service rifles. He claims that the baby wipes do a better job of removing the carbon buildup and are lint free. Just wondering if anyone has tried this with their trap guns?

I haven't, but I hear that they work equally well on crap guns.

haven't tried one on a gun yet...but they work great to clean your hands off after you shoot.

My wife makes these herself. Cuts a roll of paper towels in half, she uses Bounty, and soaks the 1/2-roll in a mixture of dish soap, baby oil and hot water. Not real sure I would want to clean my trap gun with this mixture. My hands, yes, but not my gun. Works great as a baby wipe!

Now, if you were to do the same thing using some sort of a mixture incorporating a solvent and a rust-repellant-penetrant-lubricant, you may have something. You would need to store it in an air-tight container.

I sometimes use Gator Tears on my feet when they are dry.

I guess I should start putting some lotion in my gun bag.

I can see it now, Hoppe's new marketing campaign:

    Your Zarathrusta won't a rusta if you use Hoppe's # 9

I wouldn't wanna use Breakfree on a baby's behind. They usually break free on their own.

Tron, having just gone through the baby years, let me tell you that "breakfree" is the LAST thing a baby's butt needs.

I used the red locktite with good success, though.

Swallow a Bore Snake, then you can pull it from both ends and clean out everything in between.

Tron, before or after the catalytic converter?
I did purchase a used reloader that came well packed in NEW puppy pads! You should have seen my dog sniffing the box. Good thing they weren't used. Kinda like using a sanitary napkin to fix your lipstick? YMMV Omaha
