Sorry, Sportshot, but as you might guess, it works fine for me.

Alternatively, you can navigate to the page by going to shootata.com, click on "About the ATA", then click on "ATA Forms", then click on "Yardage Reduction Refusal" (bottom left-hand corner of the table).

maybe mine still isn't going through because my membership isn't paid or the site is down. I also don't see a 2 yd auto reduction from my 24 yardage, but anyway, I ain't going forward. I'm working my arse off to go back. I like shooting long handicap more than I need a $20 jackpot or a plastic man on a black board. My '11 avg. was 88.

You can also ask for and be granted an increase too you know? 16s teach the mental discipline necessary to break good handicap scores. So too does shorter handicap yardages!! Hammer away because they ain't runnin outa clay targets anytime soon, your choices!

This is just my guess at this point, but if your dues were not paid on the date they downloaded the database info for the reductions, I don't think you will be offered one. Could affect many annual members that don't renew until closer to the shooting season in April. This is just the way it looks to me, not sure about it.

The automated form on the link above has no method of refusing a 2 yard reduction while accepting a 1 yard reduction. It was designed for the Normal 1000 Target Review and NOT this special one time 2 yard reduction offer.

    Mike,

I know that. But it should work for a number of people.

Those who want to take only 1 yard of the reduction will probably have to wait for their card to arrive in the mail.

My above post turns out to be incorrect. I think it is quite a chore going through all these shooters and it takes some time.

    Earl,

Any truth to the rumor that you’ll be using #9’s for handicap?

If you don't want the reduction just shoot from your previous yardage. The ATA will take it from there.

"If you received a yardage reduction in the mail and wish to refuse this reduction please fill out the form below."

It says in the mail.Think it will screw things up if you refuse it before your officially told you have it? GaryL.

I don't see why anyone would turn down a two yard reduction. George Hanna Buffalo Creek Trap Club.

    Steve,

Yes, you have to shoot your longest yardage.

If you do take your ATA 2-yard reduction (assuming, of course that you are offered it), contact your PITA Delegate and see if you can get a matching reduction. It's worth a try.

Hell, they gave me a 2 yard reduction but I DON'T WANT IT. I just got a 1/2 yard punch to the 21 and thats where I will shoot, if they say I have to shoot from the 18 I just won't shoot caps.
