I've seen on the news the devastation of the flooding in Australia and was wondering if our friends from down under are OK? Hopefully so.

Praying for quick end of the flooding and for everyone's safety.

    Hi Bill

Im not from the effected area, but ive heard from a few mates who are.

Man, it is one hell of a mess, there is now flooding over 4 states (Queensland, New South wales, Victoria and Tasmania) there is over 30 000 homes that have been inundated and about 95 towns cut off or flooded.

To give you some idea, a mate in Queensland recored 628mm or 25 inches of rain over 4 days....he lives in a 2 storey home and when he got back in the water marks on the wall where at his neck..on the second storey

    Cheers

A story in Sydney [NSW] paper arising from floods" An old lady [80+] was awaiting her son to pick her up. He informed Army Rescue that he could not get there. They dispatched a Blackhawk Chopper and winched a Sgt down. He knocked on the door and said that he had a Blackhawk waiting and the son had sent him to pick her up.She said Ok , I'll just make you a cup of tea. He heard her rattling some jars around in the kitchen. She was trying to find some coins for the taxi fare for a multi million dollar chopper.
All ended well but house severely damaged
