Assembly Bill 2062 seeks to regulate the sale of bullets by requiring purchasers to acquire a Handgun Ammunition Purchase Permit from the Department of Justice.

Assembly Bill 2566 reverses the prohibition that prevents communities from requiring a permit or license to purchase, own, possess, keep or carry a firearm. At present, the CA Penal Code preempts local jurisdiction, such as cities and counties, from requiring such permits and licenses.

If you oppose these bills, you should write, email, and/or phone your representive, in the Assembly, and tell him/her so. Failure to do this will in all probability, result in the passage of these bills.

I heard the NSSF commercial on my drive home yesterday regarding this. First time ever.

On a similarly related note, the CA High Court, shot down (pun intended) the San Francisco handgun ban.
