    Atterbury's first registered shoot

Atterbury shooting range in Edinburg In. will have it's first registered shoot on Sept. 9, 2007 starting at 11:00 a.m. It's a brand new facility with all new equipment. I think you'll be impressed when you see it. It's their first ever registered shoot so be patient as they go through the learning process. Lunch available. Hope to see you there. Any questions or directions call Ron Mason or Mark Burgess 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at (812)526-6552

Use exit 80 off of I65, take SR 252 W towards Edinburgh. Follow 252 until it intersects with US 31 (2.6 miles), continue W on 252 for another 1.8 miles. Just before the "Camp Atterbury-1942" boulder, take Edinburgh Street (northwest) for about 2000 feet, Shooting range will be on the right.

The new range is owned and operated as a State facility. In addition to the combination skeet and trap fields, with wobble option, there are sixty shooting lanes for rifle and pistol from 10 to 100 yards, a full time staff, and it's open all week. The cost was 3.6 million dollars, and is the result of a Governor and DNR that is committed to hunters and shooters. As an Indiana resident I feel very fortunate to have this facility.

WOW! Great looking facillity. Just one major problem for me. The second Sunday is the same weekend that shoots are held at Indian Creek. Would love to shoot at Atterbury but would not feel right about not attending shoots at my home club. I've known Wanda Seitz too long and too good a friend to do that to her. Would they consider moving to first weekend of the month? If this is not a confilict with other clubs in aera they might want to consider. This is the wekend that the Jefferson Gun Club ( KY ) used to hold their shoots. There's a good posibility they could draw shooters from Louisville, KY area. But here's another thought, would they consider holding on different weekends durning the year to give shooters a chance to attend a shoot there???

The back way in from the west is take SR 135 south to S.R. 252 (Trafalgar) turn left on 252 (east)6.1 miles to the Camp Atterbury entrance (green sign)turn right (south) and go 1.2 miles to the white atterbury wildlife sign and turn left (east)2.4 miles to club. You will see the club on the left.
Hope to have a good turnout for the first shoot.
