I was involved in the development of BOTH, and have used BOTH.

You'd be better off buying the P/W unit because (1) they are currently being manufactured and sold, and (2) they are around to provide parts should you need them. Jim Benn of Automate fame (once he sold the rights to Mec) does not answer calls or emails, so if you own the Automate, you own it all by your lonesome.

Honestly, I prefer the P/W model for a couple of reasons...

    1. The reloader sits on a flat plate and not higher up on an Automate.
2. You must use BOTH hands to operate the buttons on the Automate, whereas the P/W is either a lever or foot switch.
3. You can spend some time trying to adjust the magnetic limit switches on the Automate, and some folks never seem to get that done correctly.
4. I like the breaking mechanism on the P/W for machine safety reasons.
