If NRA and the republicans don't pursue this......................it would be typical.

All this was done in order to set up gun owners as patsies, so new legislation and bans could be inacted. Congress is in no mood for new gun laws. The Dems overall do not want a voter backlash (even though some of their more vocal anti-gun twits are pushing for it), and the GOP so far has not risen to the call of compromise (never trust a RINO). So the Obama Administration came up with a way to make an end run around the law and congress. This wasn't something thought up by a mid-level BATF manager. It reaches to the highest levels of government. The order likely came from the White house and likely from Obama himself. This needs to be investigated until the responsible party is found. And my opinion is whomever ordered this is an accessory to murder and violated firearms and smuggling laws.

Aside from the direct scandal that got people killed and endangered others, including federal agents, is that there is no basis in law to support BATF's solution. Which is a multiple rifle transfer reporting form, similar to the handgun form. Congress specifically wrote the multiple handgun transfer reporting law. BATF by bureaucratic decree is creating a rifle version citing the handgun form as a precedent. This is akin to having a local law banning the parking of a motorhome in your driveway, and the police department then decides to apply that law to pickup trucks with campers as well. No basis in law. They're just making it up as they go. On top of that, this is a federal agency. They enforce laws uniformly across the nation. Yet, (so far), this is only going to affect four states. This violates equal protection under the law. In short, BATF is making it up as they go.
