The Western Zone Shoot will be held July 14 - 17, 2011 at 10 sites.

    The sites are:

Chugiak, Alaska (in conjunction with the Alaska State Shoot)

    Calgary, Alberta, Canada

    Sierra Vista, Arizona

    Triple B, El Monte, California

    Coon Creek, Lincoln, California

    Schofield, Honolulu, Hawaii

    Anaconda, Montana

    Medford, Oregon

    Spanish Fork, Utah

    Spokane, Washington

The program at most sites will be:

    Thursday: 100 Singles, 100 Handicap, 100 Handicap

Friday: 100 Doubles (Class), 100 Handicap (Preliminary), 100 Singles (Class)

    Saturday: 200 Singles (Championship)

Sunday: 100 Doubles (Championship), 100 Handicap (Championship)

Chugiak, Anaconda, and I believe Calgary, will shoot Thursday's second handicap event on Saturday afternoon. And, as shown in the post above, Triple B will shoot an additional handicap on Saturday afternoon that will not apply to the Zone-wide HOA.

At the moment, Sierra Vista is still planning on hosting a site. That may change based on what happens with the weather. There is a thread on this that Arizona shooters should monitor.

This will be the second year that we will be compiling the Zone scores using the shootatazone.com website created by David Van Elgort.

For the first time, we will be offering Zone-wide Lewis options on the Championship events. Decisions regarding the details of the Zone-wide Lewis options were finalized too late to make it into many of the site programs, so ask at your site if the options are being offered.

    Domenic,

    Call them and check.

I don't have any reason to believe that they aren't holding the Zone shoot.

Their dates are listed on shootata.com. http://shootata.com/content/ata_zones/club.aspx?clubid=070015

I'm with Domenic, no program as of yet. CGSTA web site shows the dates

but no program. Coon Creek web site doesn't even show the dates.

I'm going to Stockton Trap & Skeet on July 9th for an ATA Shoot.

Maybe our CGSTA delegate can shed some light on this. Coon Creek is

open tomorrow so I'll call them. With only 10 days until the shoot

starts, I find this a little odd.

I live almost 3 hours away so driving everyday is out of the question. Hope

it's not to late to get a reservation.

I wouldn’t be surprised if George decided not to hold the zone shoot this year.
He’s scaling back on registered shoots this year since losing some of his help.
But it would be nice to have a program listed and confirmation the shoot will
be held before scheduling the time to attend.

    Regarding Coon Creek

George is not scaling back on this shoot. Coon Creek is hosting the Western Zone and is the Northern California site. As discussed there are some problems with the program. I am hopeful that a electronic one will be posted before the shoot. As soon as a program is available I will have it posted here and on the CGSTA site.

If you have questions you can contact Coon Creek management at (916) 765-8278 or you may email me at california_ata@yahoo.com

    Thanks

    Mike,

Coon Creek does a great job. We enjoyed last years shoot. This year we will be at Triple B and will miss everyone this year. Maybe next year we will see you all.. Good luck and hope to see many winners from both of our California sites.

    Great news, thanks Jim.
I would recommend this hotel in Roseville,,

Courtyard by Marriott Galleria Mall Roseville Creekside
    (916) 772-3404

301 Creekside Ridge Ct, Roseville, CA

Gun friendly and safe, near highway 65

My wife is a manager there, I'll talk to her about reduced rates for shooters..
