I received my ATA packet in the mail today and one of the items they sent to me is a cloth embroidered ATA patch. It has a shiny film backing on it and I am wondering if you sew this patch on like any other or if its made to glue or iron on? I just dont want to screw it up.....Thanks Ron

It's a sew on patch. The shiney is just the backing for the embroidery.

You can sew it, but it is an iron on patch. I ironed mine on and it woked perfectly. Press hard & hold long enough for the adhesive to melt.

Pin it on straight and then turn the cloth inside out and iron from that side. I put a few stitches in just for good measure.

I guess that I looked at the wrong ones. I have both kinds. The older ones had to be sewn on but I see that the newer ones have a heat activated adhesive on them. So sorry for the misinformation.

Hey Ed. Mine's so old it's made out of felt and not embroidered.

Don't sew patches on your clothes - it makes you look like a numb-nuts.

When you get your life membership you get a silk ATA patch to put on your night shirt.
