The following statement appears at the bottom of the ATA dues receipt:
"ATA membership dues are 100% tax deductable"
In drafting our 2012 tax return (UUGGGHHHHH!) the only place I can find to account for this as an itemized deduction is the the "Charitable Donations" category. I doubt that the ATA is a charitable organization but I really don't see a more logical category. Does anyone know for sure where this should be itemized ?
    Thanks

As specified in the ATA By-Laws, the ATA is a 501(c)(3) corporation, and as such is a "charitable organization."

The only problem with that is it would appear that the ATA has removed the By-Laws from the rulebook. Why I don't know, but it appears that finding out what is in the By-Laws has become more difficult.

    Bob,

The By Laws are now a separate download, also available at shootata.com.
