because some of his buddies were complaining that they pre-squaded and that it wasn't fair to allow people to sign up after them.

And what did the State Association officers say when you brought this to their attention?

first of all, the shooters complaining said that they pre-squaded and paid to shoot the last squad. secondly, they used 16 traps and had approx. 65 squads, so the shoot was over at around 2:30-- no reason to cut squads off. the state board supported this guy.

my wife and i and friend lost our option money ($250) and they would not refund it.the state board supported this guy without reason. how would you like to have a group of guys make a business decision for you.

So, you were squadded and paid and then they didn't let you shoot because your squad was later than the now-imposed cut-off. Right?

we did not pre-squad. we signed up every day. didn't think it was a big deal as that's the way we have always signed up at our state shoot. now, all of a sudden, it's a major problem when the shoot it at Ben Avery

If you weren't squadded, how did you lose $250 in option money?

good question: we signed up fpr the HOL option for singles, hdcp. and dbls. at the beginning of the week. we did not have enough time to sign up and shoot the dbls. event on friday because they tried to force us to shoot in the first 8 squads

So, you're squadding just prior to the start of each event?

So, Friday morning you were told that the only openings on the last event of the day were in the first eight squads, and you didn't like that, right?

first of all, it was not right to change the sign-up procedures without announcing it. but secondly, we did not have enough time to sign up, put our guns together and make the squad on time.

one gent drove all the way from Ohio to shoot with his friends and was turned away. he was unable to shoot the weekend at all. they told him Sunday am that if there was a cancellation, he could fill the position. they called him in & signed him up and at the last minute, they called him back in & informed him that he couldn't shoot because the gent just showed up. these people need to know who pays the bills and it's quite clear the if you do not pre-squad, your business is not welcomed, at least at Ben Avery.
