Whoa -- Mr Malcolm -- The Starr Pass is only about 130 miles from Ben Avery where the Arizona State Shoot is being held.

There are courses closer than that!

I am from Tucson, and cannot give particulars for the golfing.

    Bill,

Should have been in Tucson. But there was NO WAY to move it a week forward, to accomidate the World Cup

UNTIL it was found out that a pheonix event got in the way!

Then it was moved a week forward!

By the Way : Arizona State Trap Shoot March 19-25th/2012

Last year it was wise to bring your own lunch for the most part.
    Any changes this year.
I have friends flying in for shoot, will there be ammo available for shoot.
See you all at state shoot. But pack a lunch !!!
    Ammo in question ??

The Wild Horse West has great food, and there are some nice places in Carefree.

WHW might be crowded, as it's just down the road.

I also seem to remember a Mexican place East of 17 on Carefree highway, not too far.

Good breakfast at the Waffle House, Bell Road at I-17.

But the advice to bring lunch is good as there are enough people to make the area places crowded.

Hell of an opportunity for an enterprising food vendor.

The world cup being held in Tucson is from March 22 through April 1st we would have had to move the Arizona State Shoot up three weeks which would have been this week if were to be held in Tucson.

Ben Avery could have held the shoot a week later but it would have been held at the same time as their EXPO that draws over 35000 people the ASTA decided to move it up one week to avoid have the shooters having to deal with traffic and congestion from the expo as they did offer Tucson until we were informed the world cup would start that week also.

As far as food for the state shoot Ralph's catering will be on site and has everything from a variety of Mexican food to Subs, Hamburgers & Hot dogs.
also the infamous hot dog girls will more then likely be their for the weekend...If that don't solve your hunger then their is everything from In & out, Subway, Jack in the box, McDonald's and much more less than a mile down the road.

The ASTA is having a free steak dinner Saturday night at the conclusion of the days events.

Come have a great time and enjoy the valley and a good shoot.

    Hey Joe
Can you explain how the Martin Lewis works? Is it like any other lewis?
Also in the program it said you must play the option on 1st singles event #5
for the singles lewis, but in the program event 5 is caps? I don't get it.
Butch H THANKS AGAIN! See you there.

My take on Martin Lewis. Need to enter upon first event of program. To participate. The note on Page 13 is confusing.
    COPIED FROM PROGRAM:
For Example : For Instance , If you wish to participate in the Multiple Event Singles Lewis only , you must play that option on the first Singles Event (Event # 5)I THINK THIS IS AN ERROR !!!
    Event #5 is a Handicap Event !!

Page #46 Helps You to Understand:
    Martin Lewis Multiple Singles : Event # 7/Event #12 300 Targets
Martin Lewis Multiple Handicap : Event #5/Event#8/Event#11/Event#14=400targets
Martin Lewis Multiple Doubles : Event #4/Event #10/Event#13= 300 Targets
    You need to enter Wednesday Doubles/Handicap $20. ea.or $20.x 2
As well as $40. for H.O.A.
    Thursday Singles. $20.
    Complete Entry is $100.00
    Good Luck. Joe Woods/Ontario
