Since Obama has now been elected, do you feel that we will lose our rights to own firearms? Do you feel they will just tax ammo so high you cannot afford to shoot? Or, do you think they have more important things to worry about?

I am hoping they have other things to worry about.

548; "Nobody wants to take our guns" obama believes the purpose of the 2nd Amendment is our right to hunt rabbits. Have you been living under a rock? Do you realize the US Supreme Court ruled twice in the last couple of years regarding the 2nd Amendment and stated it was our RIGHT to keep and bear arms. However, my main point is this: the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the 2nd Amendment by a 5 to 4 margin. Remember those numbers 5-4. That should tell you enough how fragile our system and way of life is.

    Obama wants subjects, not citizens.

Obama could also have the oppertunity to appoint 4 new justices... the last two he appointed were both anti-gun. Not good, at a minimum they will be forcing the Ill. gun laws on the rest of us.

It's good business for the NRA, manufacturers, store owners, bloggers - "you're about to lose them: donate, join, buy them now before they are gone!!!"

Remember the same hysteria when President Obama was first elected - shortage of guns and shells for over year? And how did that turn out? Who benefits from the hysteria?

In my area, some stores raised their prices significantly overnight after the election results were in- was that the evil Obama, or just greedy store owners (true capitalists by the way)?

Wonder if they would have raised them no matter who won and blamed the Dems or Big Gubment - I don't think the tags were changed after midnight...

The UN arms treaty is back on the table.
The day after the election the Obama administration said they would now support the treaty. Their earlier objection was just a ruse to buy votes. Now their true agenda is coming out.

This is some of the possibilities.

COMMON SENSE GUN LAWS (From the Lefts Point of View)

At the FEDERAL level: ASSULT weapons ban, magazine restrictions, maybe lead ammunition restrictions, smart gun technology, bullet ID marking, and the end of private sales without using an FFL.

    Saying that....

States can almost do anything they want except restrict your right to have a firearm in the home and not impose excess fees for that right. That's about all the last Supreme Court ruling said. An overly aggressive license fee and excessive gun & bullet taxes would most likely be struck down.

It didn't take long for the Administration to start the process to control guns even more than they are now.

See the above website. The UN is coming.

No, we will not "lose" our guns. "They" will never come for them.

It may take decades but in the end, we or our children...or their children, will voluntarily give them up.

It will be a little tax on ammo here, a simple regulation (and fee) there, a lost or stolen reporting requirement somewhere else. Then, when gun owners are used to more & more regulation and taxes, they'll quietly introduce registration of handguns. They'll tell us it has nothing to do with "legitimate" sporting guns. And it won't be at the consumer level...oh, no. They'll require manufacturers to tell the .gov which gun shops got which guns and the manufacturers will require the gun shops to tell them who bought the guns. There'll be no State or Federal registry, it will be a manufacturer's registry that the .gov can tap into 'occasionally' for "law enforcement" needs only. But they'll know who has what and where to go to get them, should a gun owner transgress and violate even the most minor ordinance.

Eventually, it will simply be too expensive or too fraught with legal pitfalls to own firearms. Then, we'll just say, "the hell with it. Here, take 'em".

All of the above is what WILL happen...if nothing changes. Are you listening Ebenezer?

Make no mistake, we are at war; and the war we're fighting is a cultural one. The culture will dictate the policies. If people *think* guns are "evil" then they'll vote for more and more gun control. And don't fool yourself for a second that our enemies care a whit about the difference between a Glock 9mm and a Diana Grade Browning 28 gauge. If it goes "bang!" they don't want you to have it. Hear what I say and believe it.

If you want to win this war - if you want to keep your guns and maintain a government 'by the people' for our progeny - don't let newspaper and TV news propaganda go unchallenged. The main stream media is wholly populated by left-wing collectivists. They are our most dangerous foe. They are, truly, the enemy of civilization. Are you a citizen...or a subject? Think about those poor Brits who, giving up on police protection, have to defend themselves and their families against gangs of violent career criminals with nothing more than a cricket bat - and get sent to jail for doing so, while the perps get a slap on the wrist! In Britain they are seriously considering a ban on knives...people would have to apply for permission to own steak knives. Think I'm kidding? Think about what you have to do just to buy cold medicine today in this country. That is our future, if nothing changes.

Most importantly, invite everyone you know to go shooting with you. Show them that guns are no more dangerous than golf clubs or sports cars (which, statistically, are FAR more dangerous than guns).

In case you haven't guessed yet, this is about way more than just guns. Don't let the enemy win. Change the game. That'll make the buggers' eyes water.
