Are they using 7 1/2 or 8's ?

    I have heard it said that trap targets cannot be broken with #8 shot.

    I use #8 shot all the time shooting trap. Mine are 1oz reloads & they break them just fine.

    You are correct you cannot break trap targets with # 8 shot, # 4 buck is best.... Try that at your local range....

    Slugs work best for me. Only got a 24 the other day though.

    Most international targets are shot with 7.5s... Of course the targets have a thicker rim and and flying 30 miles an hour faster away from you.

    Speed and energy are keys to be sure they break.

    I break them with #8 1/2's and #9's cuz I was told the bigger the number the better...

    Really ?? Is this the best bait you have? I shoot 9 shot from the 22 yr line in a 1 oz load! Every target I hit is dust
