Call up (or get on their live chat at the web site) and complain about them not having the big ten network anymore. They will offer you $5 off your bill for 6 months.

We should all at least make it cost them some money when they drop channels on us!!

Even if you don't care about the big ten network; call up and make it hit them in the pocketbook a little. Maybe they will think twice about dropping a channel that you do care about.

Dish is dropping channels all over the country and playing games with channel owners to lower their costs for themselves. Crummy outfit.

And don't worry about the Big 10 network. Alabama showed how great their wonderful Michigan team with their Heisman Trophy candidate were. Maybe you can get an SEC network and see "real" football.

Got great service from Direct TV after dish network problems.

Direct has many great programs and channels.

    I AM GLAD I SWITCHED.

Anyone into the second year if their contract with Direct? Heard the fee goes way up on year two. Any truth to it?

I've had dish network for over 5 years and am satisfied with their service and programing so far. My daughter just dumped Direct TV because of poor service and rising costs.

Yeah, you called and complained about not getting BTN and got a credit on your bill but do you get BTN yet?
    Didn't think so.
I have had BTN since the day it came on the air (also NFL Network). I have DirectTV and they will not ever lose me as a subscriber. Yes, some may not like sports as much as I do but I have zero complaints about the results I have ahd with DirectTV.

What do you pay per month X2fan? I had direct and they did the same thing Dish is pulling now. No better/no worse.

No I dont have the BTN at the moment. What are you trying to say that im stupid for having dish network? Im kind of lost here as far as what you want me to do about it. Im not switching service provider because of one small problem. I had a concern, called my provider, they appologized and tried to make it right with a loyal customer. I got $50 out of the deal, and i have confidence that this matter will be straightened out before the Big 10 opener. The games im missing now are not important anyway, besides that my Hawkeyes are going to suck this year....... Good day!

I have Dish and just checked and I still have BTN. Must be a regional thing. They did piss me off when they took the fishing channel out of my package, but I've had them for 12+ years and been ok with them.

The Big Ten Network and Dish TV have come to an agreement.

As of this morning, I have the BTN on my Dish provider.

    Hip hip hooray!!!!

I only missed one game at home last Saturday, but didn't really miss that as I went to a friend's place and watched it on his TV.

    All is good now.

My Hawkeyes play at 1100 on the over flow channel, 5440 in my area!

    Love it!!!

    Hauxfan!

First, why is this topic posted on "shooting related" section?

    Big 10 what???

    Look, I like DISH.

Unlike other service providers, DISH does not roll over and accept any and all rate increase sought by the network providers.

I have not had an increase in my monthly bill in over 5 years, can you say the same about your cable or satellite provider?

If you guys can't handle an occasional loss of programing due to excessive rate incrase demands, how you going to handle reductions in government spending and programs???

    LMAO
