Anyone using Solo 1250, I'd like to know what your opinion might be. Seems like a direct replacement for PB at a much lower cost. I will be loading a 27 yard 1 1/8 oz. three dram load.

Great for back fence shooting! Soft recoil with tight patterns. A bit "fluffy" so it takes up room in hull. Stick with STS or GM hulls and crimps will be fine! HTH

I use solo 1250 for caps from the 27 yard line and it works well cleaner then PB and it has a little faster burn rate and lite recoil and it patterns very well I use between 23-25 grains in STS or AA hulls with windchester line of primer and no mag primers There are a lot of good loads out there I use IMR PB load data to load this power. The only thing I found with this power is you can't load lite loads with it 7/8 or 1oz loads it burns to slow and will leave unburn power in your barrle outside of that it is a very good power.

Loading upwards of 25 gr is cardinal. The loading manual's data for 1200 foot loads is WRONG. 21 gr or below is almost a squib load.

    I get great results with 25 gr Solo 1250, Gold Medal hull, Fed 209A primer, CB3118-12AR wad, 1 1/8 oz 7 1/2.

This load is a terror at 27 yards, recoil is mild, but is LOUD.

Solo 1250 is too slow and too dirty for anything under 1 1/4oz @ 1220fps. IMO PB is a vastly superior powder for 1 1/8oz loads. Very clean, meters well, sound and smells good. Best powder on the planet for 1 1/8oz @ anything over 1200fps or over.
