I saw a close out price of 12.50 Lb for NITRO 100 made by Accurate. I have

never used it although it is supposed to be good for loads from 7/8 oz to

    1 1/8th oz.

    Thanks, Del

I have been using Nitro 100 for a few years now for 7/8 oz 12 ga. loads. The burn rate and density seem to be about perfect for that application. Lately Alliant Extra-Lite has gotten my attention because it will probably be more available to me. If I could buy Nitro 100 locally on the spot I would have no reason to look further.

I use Nitro 100 but you can't make a 1200fps load with it without crazy pressures. It's great for 2 3/4 dram loads.

Best buy is Promo less than $10.00 a pound.

Thanks everyone for the info. It was in 1 lb bottles no 8# available.

I guess the $12.50 wasn't such a good buy if you look at the prices in larger

containers of powders like Promo and others. I'm just attracted to

red "CLOSE OUT" stickers. Sounds like a fast rate of burn powder.

Since I am currently on my second 25 Lb. "barrel" I guess you can say that I use it. There were also a couple of 8 Lbs. bottles in between. I go almost exclusively with 7/8 Oz. and Claybuster Lightening wads. Use it in both the STS/GC case and with the TG Federal cases. Loading info directly from the wad manufacturer. It works well for my purposes. Also a few 1 1/8 oz. with the Claybuster WAA12 (white) in AA cases. These are 2 3/4 DE loads.

If you can afford to buy in quantity sizes the price/lb. does take a decent reduction.
