A friend is considering a light hunting vehicle- he might tow a small duck boat also

His wife has 5 year old Suburu Forrester--- if he added a trailer hitch - would that work?

    Pros and Cons?

    regards

I'd think a good 12ga pump would make a better hunting tool.

    Gene,

    It would work fine.

Just not much room for much besides his gun, his dog, and his gear. Maybe one other hunter with stuff, but not much better than that.

I'm not too sure about a Forester. They seem a little light to me. My best hunting was in a 1981 Buick Park Avenue, diesel. I took down a buck and doe with that one. Clean kills, both of them.

Big Al, only a f?g would make that statement. Gene I have a hitch on mine and tow a small boat and ATV trailer. They work great for light towing. The AWD system is far superior to that of most vehicles. I have pulled out several he man pickups and suvs that were stuck. I guess they were girlie types.

Main issue I'd have is, how does it do in deep snow, does it bog down when the undercarriage starts pushing snow? Phil E

Phil, I live in north central Washington and have not had a problem with snow up to 8 inches. If it gets much over that then it does plow a bit but keeps going. I have not pushed it beyond 10 inches of snow, at that point it is time to stay home.

We are on our third Subaru. The only problem between the 3 was one bad plug wire. They are unbeleivable in the snow. The wifes Sube puts my Jeep to shame.
