I just recently purchased a Ljutic Dynokic and was thinking of getting it engraved because I really like it. Can anyone recommend a engraver that does good work at a decent price? Looking for some scroll work and maybe some trap design or something. Next I'm going to look into stock and forearm refinishing. Any pictures of peoples recommended work and a price would be great.

    DR BILL,
good points, I might have the stock refinished because it was done before and it turned out to be a OK job. Dynokic stocks are hard to come by so a good refinish would do it good. I saw a ljutic that was engraved and it was really nice. It was about a 60% scroll and the guy did a great job for around $800.

I strongly recommend Ken Hurst who does combine great quality engraving with prices that are reasonable for custom engraving.

No such thing as a inexpensive good engraver.
I have a long gun, all shiny hard chromed Flannery did the engraved is perfect.
One of the best is Harris, try GOOGLE, your eyes will bulge at the work done by these artists.

Thanks guys for the compliments on the gun...sorry, haven't been on the forum for a while to respond to your comments on Ken's work.

I agree...you can't get good for cheap. However, you don't have to pay the extremely high prices of, for example Creative Artists in Italy, in order to have a first class gun.

It is very important to discuss price with the engraver in a frank manner. More coverage, more detail, inlays, all add to the price. However, with some of the folks mentioned above, you can get a very nice engraving job without busting the bank...just keep your requirements in check or you will drive up your cost.

I again strongly recommend Ken Hurst both as an engraver and as a real southern gentleman.
