7/8 oz of 8 1/2, 15 gr of 700X or solo 1000. Winchester Gray wad. Win 209 or cheddite primer in a AA hull. Use them for my first shot on doubles all the time. Out of a full choke, they smoke 16 yard targets.

17.5gr. Clays, Claybuster 0178-12 wads, Fiocchi 616's in Gun Club hulls. about 1225pfs. What makes it even better is $1/lb clean reclaimed lead. I really can't tell the difference between this load and my regular 1oz. loads.

sounds like some real nice loads. i am a 20 yard ata shooter, how do you think these loads would do at 20 yards??? i like the speed and less recoil.

    Consider this...

16 grains Clays, using a AA pink wad or clone, w209 primer in an original AA, STS or Premier Hull, nice, no recoil - patterns well,

Lead Shot 12 7/8 oz. Clays 16.0 CCI 209 Rem. TGT 12 7,900 PSI 1200fps Loaded these up for my wifw when she started shooting with 870. I may go back to 7/8 to conserve lead. I went to 1oz to get 50 more rounds now its time for 50 more.

i had always believed the more shot you use, the more likely you will break a target. the other day i shot a 7/8 oz reload from a guy. he gave me the shell as he was leaving. i was amazed how hard i hit the target, as well as the speed it had, and the recoil was so low. along with the savings on shot, i think i just might shoot these all the time. some of the reloads seem very interesting and i plan to load some of these up. this next question might sound stupid, but here it goes, has anyone ever tried 1/2 ounce of shot in a load, is there anyway that could be tried. i through out all my reloading manuals around 10-15 years ago. i have been purchasing the federal 4 packs over the years at wal mart. i still have my shot which is remington, all diferent types of wads, i have red and green dot, 700x, and pb. primers i have are federal, cci, winchester, and remington.

Have been shooting 7/8 oz for years as I shoot bunker trap almost exclusively. There are a number of 7/8 or 24GM loads out there that are great. Typically the speed is 1300-1350 FPS. If you use good shoot and wads you will find out how truly great the load is and get an extra 50 rounds a bag as a bonus.

Very inexpensive but very effective 7/8 oz load: 18 gr PROMO under CB4100 wad with either #9 or #8 1/2 shot for Singles, or 1st Doubles shot. Use a DR XXL pink wad and you can drop 3/4 oz of #9 for an even cheaper load. BTW, this load smokes 'em with .030 and tighter choking.

    Even nicer, 3/4 oz of 8's ( a 28 ga bar)

Rem STS, Federal 12S0, 16.5 promo or red, Fiocchi 616 primer but any is ok as the pressure is so low. 1155 fps

You'll be amazed. Nice crimps, no fillers ( I did back the crimp punch out
and have a tight pre crimp in a MEC

Since I was willing to share, try it and report back !

    regards bruce

I use 18.7 grs. of Green Dot with a gray wad. The pattern is very tight from my Light Modified Kolar tube. Great for Singles and Handicap to at least the 24 yd. line.
