1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Years ago my uncle had a model 70 winchester with a Unertl scope on it. He liked it a lot, said he had to take it back to Unertl himself once, and was given a brand new scope. I would like to find one, a Unertl that is. The ones they have today seem to be all military or police use. Thats fine, I understand they still have a great reputation. Anyone tell me where there are any of these?

I usually see them at gun shows. They are not cheap but they are a great scope. Carlos Hathcock used one.

    Give Jeffrey Bortz a call (610-965-9816 - e-mail: JABSAO@msn.com)

He lives in north-central PA and deals with all types of scopes - he usually has several Unertls in hand.

Unertl scopes are made near Harrisburg, PA so he has direct contact with them as well for parts and repair...

I have a 1.5" 15X Unertl scope with Posa mounts and an adjustable head (objective) to sell as part of an estate I'm liquidating. I have the manual, the instructions, the receipt and some correspondence from Unertl. If you are interested send me your e-mail address. I'll send you some pictures and we can discuss.

Yeah, they are good glass. I don't have any of their rifle scopes, but I do have an old spotting scope. And for Edddiefromoverlook, I have two Charlie Johnson barreled rifles.
